A dark, jagged carborundum (silicon carbide) crystal cluster mounted upright on a polished dark reddish-brown wooden display stand. The crystals are near-black but flash with a strong metallic iridescence — vivid blues, purples, greens, golds and reds shifting across every facet as the light moves. The stand is turned wood with a rounded, footed base, shaped to cradle the specimen.

Carborundum's rainbow sheen is a surface interference effect rather than a true gemstone colour, which is why it flickers from blue to green to gold as you walk past it.
Please note: this is a natural-variation item sold by size range, so no two clusters are alike — shape, colour flash and stand grain will differ from the photo.
