A polished Transvaal jade bead, teardrop in shape and tapering from a rounded end to a narrower, flatter end. The colour runs from mottled light to medium jade green with paler white and darker green veining, into a dark, almost black, highly reflective section at the wider end that shows subtle flashes of purple, pink and blue — an iridescent, oil-slick effect. A 1mm hole is drilled through the flat, narrower end.
